TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

The Tifton Community came together to pray for those who serve and protect our communities.

Tifton Police Officers and Sheriff's Deputies held hands in prayer outside the Tifton Police Department. Community leaders read scriptures and lead a prayer for the safety of officers across the country and for a safe holiday weekend.
They say they're concerned with the amount of cop killings and violence going on in our country.

"We see all the violence going on and we just want to come out and show our support to the officers that do serve and protect our community and pray that God protect them as they are protecting us,” said Joanna Crossgrove, Organizer.

A prayer for police officers was also held today outside the Albany Police Department and in Dawson.
