ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Local law enforcement officers will soon have an upgraded firing range to use for training.

The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, Dougherty County Police, and Albany Police Department have been awarded a grant of more than $61,500 to spend on improving their firing range.

The three agencies agreed to share their efforts to improve their firearms training in several areas including "Real Shooter" and "Shoot, Don't Shoot" simulations.
