ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany authorities have arrested a man in suspicion to a copper theft at Georgia Power.
Detectives took Kenneth Hilburn into custody on Thursday after his girlfriend went to Southeastern Aluminum Recycling to sell them the stolen copper wiring.
The owner, who was already aware of the copper theft, immediately called police.
Investigators were able to verify that the stolen property belonged to Georgia Power through the serial numbers etched on the wiring. The girlfriend told police that she had gotten the copper wire from Hilburn.
Hilburn was located and taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. He is charged with two counts of Criminal Damage to Property and one count of Theft by Taking.
