VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Police said a 16-year-old has been charged in connection to a carjacking and armed robbery as they search for his accomplice.
Officials are searching for 18-year-old William Casey White.
He is wanted for party to the crime charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, and hijacking a motor vehicle, as well as criminal damage to property and obstruction.
The armed robbery happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
A woman told police she was robbed by two young men as she drove up her driveway on Mary Street in Valdosta.
According to a report, the woman said the two had a pistol and demanded money and the keys to a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, which she gave them.
The two took off, but were soon seen by VPD officers, who tried to stop the driver near East Magnolia and North Forrest Street.
The driver did not slow down, and later wrecked the car. Then the two teens ran, but the 16-year-old was caught and arrested by VPD and Lowndes County deputies.
Valdosta Police said the arrested teen, who was not named, was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and obstruction.
The 16-year-old was driving the Tahoe was transported to a juvenile detention facility in Waycross, pending judicial proceedings.
