We all want to save a penny.

And millions of us go through hundreds of coupons to try to save every little bit we can.

But now several stores are trying to make saving easy by creating apps that help you become a savvy shopper.

Stores around south Georgia are offering convenient ways for customers to have saving power in the palm of their hands.

With the click of a button, customers said they've saved hundreds.

For many shoppers, errands are a chore that many of us are too busy to deal with.

"I don't have time," said Heather Harrell.

Harrell is a mother of six.  She said she spends close to $1,000 a month on groceries and other household items.

“When I go to the grocery store, I have just enough time to go to the grocery store,” she said. “I don't have time to preplan.”

For her and many other parents, every penny counts. So, Harrell said money saving apps such as Target's “Cartwheel” are perfect.

Customers can choose from hundreds of discounted items, scan their barcode, and see the savings.

And this isn't the only free app that protects your wallet.

Several apps are available that store savings in a place that's always within reach.

“If I can just have something on my phone that I'm going to have with me anyways, then yes, I would use it all the time,” said Harrell.

You can go to the App store or Google Play on your smartphone and search ‘shopping saving’ to find other convenient ways to save.

It just goes to show, there really is an app for everything.
