Marijuana crop discovered in Sumter

SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - Sumter County authorities are looking for two men they say were growing marijuana at a home near Leslie.

Agents from the DEA, Marshal's Service, GBI, and the Sumter and Houston County Sheriff's Offices found as many as 150 plants when they raided the home. The plants were growing inside and outside and agents say the indoors operation was very detailed.

"Very sophisticated. They had water, electricity, grow lights. Everything inside the residence. They had filtration systems. Everything was built in to where it would be disguised to the average person until you open the door," said Sheriff Pete Smith Sumter County.

If anyone has any information about the marijuana grow operation, they are asked to call the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
