ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

In Albany, some gas prices have dipped to as low as $1.95 per gallon for regular, more than a dollar a gallon cheaper than one year ago.

The savings on gas means more money in the pockets for drivers...and for some it couldn't have come at a better time.

With Labor day weekend right around the corner, low gas prices could permit a nice vacation for the three-day-weekend.

One Dougherty county woman,  pumping gas on her birthday, said the lower price at the pump was a nice present .

"This weekend I am planning to go to Panama City Florida, said Rasheedah Collier. "And probably to fill up this tank no more than 25, so I feel great about it."

Car club AAA says Georgia's gas prices for the Labor Day Holiday should be the cheapest in more than a decade, and Albany has one of the lowest average prices in the state.
