ALBANY, GA (WALB) - City election qualifying started Tuesday morning. Four positions are up for election which are Mayor and commission posts 1, 4, and 6.
Current mayor Dorothy Hubbard plans to qualify for re-election, saying that she wants to continue the work she has started in Albany.
"You know there have just been a number of things that we've done that we would like to see continue. And we would like to start on the new things. We're looking at the future. We also are excited about the possibility of downtown redevelopment," said Mayor Dorothy Hubbard.
Jon Howard also plans to seek re-election in Ward One. And like Hubbard, still feels there is a lot of work to be done.
Elections are set for November 3rd.
