ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Albany city and Dougherty County employees couldn't bare the heat in the city/county governmental building today.
Temperatures in some offices were in the 90's when employees got to work this morning.
Facilities management believes the two chillers were knocked out by a thunderstorm over the weekend.
Both units were back operating by this morning.
However it took time for that cold air to reach the entire building which forced employees on the top floor to have to go home early.
"We're experiencing some technical difficulties and our maintenance department is working very hard to get things back together over there and get the air conditioning fixed," Chris Cohilas said.
The broken air conditioners also forced county commissioners to move their scheduled Monday meeting to another building.
