ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police say 47-year-old Gregory Charles died after being thrown out of his vehicle last night.

He was driving his Ford pickup south on the Liberty Expressway, near Moultrie Road around 8:45PM Sunday.

A witness said Charles was driving at a high speed, when he lost control and flipped his truck several times.

"We have an independent witness that was traveling on the roadway in the same direction as this driver," said Dougherty County Police Captain Tom Jackson.   "The driver was stopped in the roadway; he blew his horn at the driver. He said the driver then accelerated at a high rate of speed and then lost control of the vehicle and flipped numerous times."

No other cars were involved, and no one else was in the truck with him.
