ALBANY, GA (WALB)
On Saturday, family and friends came together to remember 35-year-old Richard J. Butler, who was killed in a shoot out in the parking of a Newton Rd. Convenience store this week.
Butler's first cousin says the family is in good spirits considering what happened, but want the violence to stop.
“Its a situation of black on black crime. And the neighborhoods need to get together. People that are this age range and younger, so that sometimes this senseless violence can stop,” says first cousin Donte Jones.
His cousin, Richard M. Butler, is in jail charged with aggravated assault.
