Marching Rams give taste of what people will see in California

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - If you ask students at ASU they'll tell you their band is the best around.

"Oh our band is on it we're really good," Dana Hudson said.

The "Marching Rams" came right through the Albany Mall today. Besides fundraising to go to the Rose Parade, they're also celebrating a big accomplishment.

"We are out here today to celebrate with the community the fact that Albany State University is going to be representing the city of Albany and the state of Georgia on an international stage," Chanta Haywood said.

The Rose Parade is something fans are certainly cheering about.

"My school is very blessed to have the opportunity," Dana Hudson said.

The Rams are trying to raise about 270 thousand dollars to get to California.

"This is a rally to let the community to know that we're going to need their help to send their band to California," Chanta Haywood said.

And the "marching rams" gave the community a little taste of what they will see when they go to the Rose Parade.

"They are to expect the type of electricity that's going to be seen all over the world when they are in Pasadena," Chanta Haywood said.
