Thrush Aircraft, Inc. manufactures planes, mainly crop dusters
Senator Isakson spoke for about an hour with Thrush Airport management
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
US Senator Johnny Isakson says an Albany industry proves American manufacturers can succeed in the global economy.
Isakson toured Thrush Aircraft Thursday evening.
The company that makes crop dusters is currently expanding as it starts making a larger plane.
Thrush exports many of their planes, and Isakson loves what the business means for the region and the country.
"I'm here today because Thrush is a perfect example about what's good for America, said Isakson. "If you want to help the middle class in America, you help small business. If you want to help small business you help manufacturers. So I'm here to see what's the heart and soul of the economy and Thrush is exactly that."
Thrush currently employs more than 180-people and is the world leader in aircraft for agricultural spray operations.
