TIFTON, GA (WALB) - A major highway was blocked and power knocked out for hundreds of customers Thursday morning in Tifton.
The Georgia State Patrol worked a single vehicle crash on Highway US 82 at the Interstate 75 interchange.
Troopers said the car hit a power pole around 7:00 in the morning.
Georgia Power reported 115 customers were without power, but they didn't expect this to be a problem very long.
Law enforcement had to detour traffic in the area while utility personnel repaired the pole and secured the wires.
One nearby car dealership didn't let the closure slow them down.
"It's been like this since I got here at about 8:30 this morning. Traffics been backed up. And people are cutting through our lot so they're getting to look at some cars. If you can figure out how to get here, We're still selling cars," said Prince Chevrolet GM Donnie Gilder.
The Georgia State Patrol has not released the name of the truck driver.
