We, along with most of the country, are saddened to hear of President Jimmy Carter's recent cancer diagnosis.
But as a fellow Georgian, the nation's 39th president holds an even more special place in our hearts.
We have seen clear evidence of the tremendous show of support, from signs being made, to prayers being shared.
We are so pleased to see Southwest Georgia coming together to honor President Carter, especially in his home town of Plains.
At 90, the President is still a fighter, a family man, and a fine example of a man of integrity.
