A double murder case in Sumter County is one step closer to trial.

A grand jury indicted 21-year old Demetrius Hubbard, 17-year old Ruhemmeion King, and 19-year old Demarcus Brown on two counts of murder and one count of arson.

Investigators say they shot Bonnie McSpadden and her son, Dallas Freeman, at their home on R. W. Jones Road near Leslie and then set the home on fire in late February.

District Attorney Plez Hardin hopes to make it to trial within a year.   He hasn't decided whether he'll try the three together or separately.

Three teenagers are indicted for an armed robbery in Sumter County.  18-year old Styles Dodson and 15-year olds Adrian Johnson and Jykeem Carter are charged with robbing Tracy Hall on her porch on Lee Street in late May.   The three will be arraigned sometime next month before going to trial.

That same grand jury also indicted Jermaine Taylor for murder.    He was arrested in January when GBI agents say he and 36-year-old Martin Thames were planning to rob the occupants of a house on Price Street.

Thames and Marcus Harper were killed in a shootout. Taylor and two other men were wounded.
