Two arrested after Douglas drug investigations

A woman and a man were arrested in Douglas Sunday, after separate drug investigations revealed criminal activity.

Douglas Police Department officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Flash Foods on North Peterson Avenue.

Officers discovered Jennifer Hearell, 27, of Douglas was carrying Lorcet, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

They called the Douglas – Coffee Drug Unit, and they arrested Hearell for possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Later on Sunday, DCDU detectives responded to Amberwood Apartments in Douglas in response to a complaint of drug activity at the residence of Jamarious "Joe" Rolax, 32.

They searched Rolax’s apartment, as a condition of his probation, and that's when detectives found Rolax to be in possession of a Bushmaster .223 rifle.

Rolax was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, because he is not allowed to own a gun.
