Albany Police Officers promoted

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - New titles tonight for some Albany Police Officers.
Family members pinned new badges onto nine officers at a ceremony as they were promoted either to Sergeant or Lieutenant.
New Lt. Terrance Whitlock was pinned by his wife, Dougherty County Police Sergeant Tamiko Whitlock.

"It's exciting but I'm being humbled to know that the department and the community want me to lead our officers," said Lt. Terrance Whitlock, Albany Police.

"I'm so proud of him," said Sgt. Tamiko Whitlock, Dougherty County Police. "He's one of the reasons why I am in law enforcement. He's so dedicated. He cares so much about the community and making a change. He gives me inspiration on a daily basis."

Chief Michael Persley encouraged the officers to continue their professionalism, integrity, accountability, and interpersonal skills.
He says there will be another promotional assessment soon.
