Photos released in Cordele Auto Zone robbery

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Authorities are looking for two men after an armed robbery at an AutoZone in Cordele Monday night.

They got money, and got away in a silver car with dark rims.

One of the suspects was wearing a red shirt pulled over a long sleeve white shirt, blue jeans, black shoes with a purple stripe, and a red hat and black mask. Police found the hat and mask behind the store.

The second suspect came in wearing a black jacket with a patch on the right sleeve. He was carrying a red, white, and, black duffel bag. 

The Cordele Police Department released this statement-

On August 24th, 2015, (approx. 9:28 pm) officers responded to Autozone, located at 619 E 16th Ave in reference to a robbery. The staff there stated that two men entered the store with one brandishing a “tan” in color handgun and the other had a backpack. The suspect with the gun was wearing a red s/s shirt over a white l/s shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, gloves, and a black mask with a red hat.

The suspect with the red and black backpack was wearing a black hooded jacket with his face covered, blue jeans, gloves, and black shoes. They left the store after cleaning out the cash register and instructing the staff to lay on the floor. There was a witness that stated they saw a small silver car leaving the area shortly after the robbery. That lead, as well as all other are being looked into at this time.

The Sheriff's Office is assisting local officials on the investigation.
