Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a man was killed when he was hit by a car while walking along the side of the road.
Officials said 23-year old A’Keeme Elijah Williams of Thomasville died.
He was hit by an SUV while walking on the shoulder of U.S Highway 19 in Baconton around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
GSP said Williams was in the southbound lane of the highway just north of the intersection with GA 93 when he was hit.
Officials did not immediately release the name of the driver.
No charges have been filed.
