ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The first Comicon-style convention in South Georgia kicks off tomorrow.
Crews began setting up for Epicon 2015 today at the Hasan Temple in Albany.
Organizers of the anime, comics, and gaming convention chose Albany for its centralized location.
They expect 800 to 1200 visitors from all over the southeast.
"One of the best things is that it's not just about having fun," said Timothy Haire, Director of Epicon 2015. "We're also raising money for the Hasan Shrine here in Albany. They have a transportation unit for children's hospitals and 10 percent of all of our ticket sales are going to them."
The convention will also include panels on the film industry and a special appearance by Walking Dead Zombies.
It kicks off at 9:00 a.m.
Tickets are $10.
