BACONTON, GA (WALB) - A Baconton Pastor is looking for volunteers to help prisoners.
Pastor Lawrence Knighton and the Chaplain of Autry State Prison will hold training tomorrow to certify folks as prison volunteers.
Knight leads Bible studies and delivers items such as toiletries at Autry State Prison.
He wants to expand the ministry to Lee and Calhoun County prisons.
"When you have more people coming in to show their concern and care for the inmates their behavior gets better," said Pastor Lawrence Knighton." They develop an even greater love for each other because they see some people from the outside coming in to share with them. Whether it's bible study or coming in to do motivational speaking."
The training is open to the Public tomorrow at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Baconton at 8:00 a.m.
