PEARSON, GA (WALB) - City leaders hope a new housing restriction will increase the quality of life for residents.
The number of people who can live in a home is now limited to one person for every 200 square feet of space in the home.
They mayor believes the new rule will reduce crime and help prevent people, especially children, from living in unhealthy conditions.
"We're doing it for the safety and the welfare of our children, our elderly, and the community," said Pearson Mayor Bettye Drayton-Williams.
Atkinson County Commissioners also adopted the same ordinance.
