ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany State volleyball team will be a young team this season. However, right hitter Jennifer Evans was the only senior to leave the program.

If there's one thing ASU will have, it's continuity.

The team finished with a winning record, (14-13) last season. Howeve,r expectations for the Golden Rams are higher this year.

Outside hitter Kristen Randolph is entering her junior season. She will be leaned on as one of the veterans along with returning seniors Kaliah Carter and Tiffany Roesler.

This is a program that is used to success. They won the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference every year from 2001 until 2009.

Robert Skinner has been coaching the squad for the past 25 years. He said they will need to buckle down on the fundamentals to regain that championship pedigree.

"Our passing, ball handling especially was our main enemy last year, said Skinner. "It cost us a lot of games. So we knew we had to improve in that area. And that's where we've been focusing most of our attention."

His Lady Golden Rams will have a couple weeks to tune up the basics.

ASU will face Emmanuel College to start the season on September 4th.
