VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police likely won't file charges after a bizarre confrontation that started in an internet chat room.

Around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, officers stopped a 21 year old man with a gun on Gordon St. He told them when he tried to stop an intimate encounter with another 21 year old man at a home on N. Toombs St. that guy got mad and pulled a knife.

The first man said he grabbed a gun, fired a warning shot, and ran.

Police weren't sure though Wednesday if that's actually what happened. "Both parties were talked to and we were unable to make a determination who was the primary aggressor in this incident," said Valdosta Police Department Cpt. Bobbi McGraw.

Cpt. McGraw added that this encounter should serve as a warning for anyone thinking of meeting up with someone they chat with online.
