BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Bainbridge may soon get a glimpse into what the downtown square looked like over 100 years ago.

The Downtown Development Authority said they're working to expose original brick laid beneath the asphalt roads.

Executive Director Amanda Glover said the brick will bring back the small town charm aesthetic and might also help provide more safety to pedestrians.

“Truck traffic and vehicular traffic just flies through downtown.  So it's another method to slow those vehicles down.

Glover said they're working with the Public Works department to create a timeline for the project.
