SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) - The Sheriff's Office continues to crack down on drunk drivers.
Deputies made 17 arrests the last two weekends in random road checks throughout the county. They teamed up with the Georgia State Patrol to catch folks.
Sheriff Pete Smith says the road checks will continue to be a high-priority.
"You have so many accidents. You have so many injuries. You have so many fatalities every year. We try to prevent that," said Sheriff Smith.
Sheriff Smith says the haven't picked the location or date of their next road block.
