TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Tift County 911 workers moved into an 11-thousand square foot Emergency Operations Center on 2nd Street this week.
The dispatch center was located in the Sheriff's office for 17-years.
The new center has state of the art equipment and has much more room.
There's also a Command Center for emergency crews to prep for any emergency situation.
"Planning, resourcing, understanding the needs of the community and being prepared to respond to whatever situation may arise and this facility gives us the opportunity to do that," said Jason Jones, Director of Public Safety.
Tift County Fire and Rescue will also be housed in the facility.
An open house will be held sometime next month.
