MACON CO., GA (WALB) - Leaders from an area hospital hope listening to the public's healthcare concerns can help them improve the industry.
Phoebe Sumter hosted a town hall Thursday night in Macon County, focused on healthcare challenges in rural south Georgia.
The hospital's CEO said she hopes events like this improve the overall health of the community.
"We are really trying to get at those early determinants," said Phoebe Sumter Medical Center CEO Brandi Lunneborg things like smoking rates, obesity, how do you eat, how do you be healthy and ways we can embed things into the community."
This was Phoebe Sumter's first healthcare town hall, but they plan to host more in the future.
