WorldVision donates supplies to Albany teachers

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dozens of Dougherty County School teachers have more supplies to use in their classrooms.

WorldVision surprised teachers at Sherwood Acres Elementary Thursday afternoon with boxes of supplies provided by Target.

The organization knows teachers sometimes use their own money to make sure students have what they need.

"That's exciting to know that teachers now have some assistance from World Vision," said Juanita Nixon. "That they don't have to continue to take monies from their income out of their pocket to supply their classrooms."

World Vision also donated supplies to Jackson Heights, Lake Park, Morningside, Northside, Alice Coachman, Westtown, and Radium Elementary Schools.
