ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County officials confirmed that at least one person was injured in a school bus crash near the intersection of Gowan Avenue and South Jackson Street.
A spokesperson with Dougherty County Schools said there were 11 students on the bus at the time, along with one bus driver.
Ambulances were sent to the scene. There were no immediate reports of injuries from anyone on the bus.
At lease one other vehicle was involved in the crash. The person driving it was injured, but the extent of those injuries was not immediately available.
Officials first got word of the crash around 4:30 p.m.
From the scene, it appeared that the other vehicle, determined to be a van, rear-ended the school bus.
The ages of the students on the bus were not immediately available. Officials said the bus was traveling from Monroe High School.
Spokesperson JD Sumner with Dougherty County Schools said his thoughts and prayers were with those who were injured in the crash.
