Ocilla plant cuts ribbon on new expansion

OCILLA, GA (WALB) -

About 50 people were on hand for the ribbon cutting for Rockport Commercial Vehicles expansion in Ocilla Thursday morning.

County Commission Chairman Joey Whitley said that the company provides important employment opportunities for Irwin County.

Rockport, a division of Forest River makes truck and trailer bodies for industrial or personal use.

One of their new products, the Rockport LE, is a truck body they say meets the needs of more price-conscious customers. With only a few options available, this product is ideal for the customer that needs to cut corners.

They have a trailer called the 'Work N Tow,' is a full service body, but on a trailer, instead of a truck. It's designed for the contractor who  leaves equipment at the job site.

Rockport and Forest River has a management team with over 115 years combined experience in the commercial delivery vehicle sales, design and manufacturing.

Rockport is an authorized Ford, GM & RAM 'upfitter' and they have Ford, GM, and RAM 'cutaway' chassis available.
