MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Life under the Son is an innovate new jail ministry.

Jase Bass not only goes into the Colquitt County Jail, he welcomes former inmates into his center to help them re-integrate into society.

"They come out they've been locked up this whole time they think they're free but they're still in bondage, said Bass. "To drugs, poverty, whatever it is that got them in there in the first place."

Bass has a past he isn't proud of, but found salvation in Jesus. The same salvation he helps former inmates reach like Janarrian Lewis.

"It's been going good, said Lewis. "I mean I got baptized Sunday and I'm really changing. I just feel blessed."

He is just one of the number of men Bass works with.

"I was stealing everything that wasn't nailed down, said another member of the program, James Strickland. "And some things that were and I went to jail and seen Jase and he inspired me to change my life."

Bass also is teaching them lessons for life in their new building. There is child care development, resume building and other programs to acclimate the men to the working world.

"You pull this guy out, and you pull this guy out, said Bass. "Now we have our own circle of friends. Now this circle of friends we build each other up."

As they meet weekly. They learn from each other shortcomings as well as rejoice in each others stories of reformation.

"The Lord has set it up to help change the community. you change these men, you change these families, and the community is going to benefit."
