ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Downtown Development Authority has entered into a contract to purchase property that will be used to expand small businesses in the area.
The property is on the corner of Pine and Front Street, known as the "Wurst Property."
Officials said it will be used to attract small businesses for development or expansion in the downtown area.
According to a release by the city, some negotiations are underway with new businesses.
The deal was made in a partnership with the City Managers office.
The focus of city developers is to have a job creation element tied to each project, whether it be construction or permanent jobs.
