Cancer Ties kicks off first fundraiser for cancer patient

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A southwest Georgia organization is collecting ties to raise money for a cancer patient.

Cancer ties collected ties at the Manor House Pub on Dawson road today.
The ties will be resold at their big event September 17th at merry Acres.
Each year Cancer Ties raises money for one patient.
This year, the fundraiser will support Jessica Wilson, a wife and mother now battling cancer.

"We raise funds to help people off set expenses that they incur while they are battling cancer,” said Carrie Hutchinson, Cancer Ties Executive Director. “Not just medical bills, household expenses. No matter what happens."

Ties Days will continue next Tuesday at the Chamber of Commerce's business after hours at Morningside of Albany Assisted Living and Harvest Moon.
