BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - A woman was taken into custody after investigators said she tried to smuggle drugs into the Decatur County Prison for her boyfriend.

Officers got a tip that 31-year-old Keyuana Bethea of Moultrie planned to bring nearly half a pound of marijuana into the correctional institute.

Investigators arrested her at a Family Dollar store on Sunday where they said she was trying to purchase electrical tape to smuggle the drugs.

"She had nine sandwich bags of marijuana along with 12 packs of Bugler tobacco that was all packaged," said Investigator Chip Nix.

Bethea was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and criminal attempt to cross guard lines with contraband.
