SALE CITY, GA (WALB) - A missing horse that has cancer, thought to be stolen, has been found.
Officials with the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office said Bonnie the horse was found near Pelham.
According to deputies, the horse was not actually stolen, but taken away temporarily for medical treatment.
Bonnie has cancer in her left eye.
Her owner, Kathy Harell, said she was worried about her missing horse.
"I want her home safe. I want her back home with her family," Harell said.
When she first thought Bonnie was stolen, the only immediate evidence was a set of tire tracks on the property.
A viewer, learning about Bonnie's disappearance, called the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office and told them the horse was okay.
The case is now being considered one big miscommunication. A father and son had asked to help Bonnie. She had been with them.
"It was good people trying to do a good deed," said Harell.
No charges will be filed.
