MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - The first of day of school is already in the books for several south Georgia students but tomorrow high school students in Colquitt County will be the first to begin classes in a brand new school.
Like any young kid going into high school for the first time Sarah Harrell is a little nervous about her first day at Colquitt County High School.
"Overwhelmed a little bit, my first year of high school just worried. But I think it will be a really good year though." Sarah Harrell said.
Harrell already has something new to look forward to, along with every proud Packer, they will begin their first stay Monday in a brand news , $40 million school.
"From the old high school to the new this one is completely different," Harrell said.
Wider hall ways and stairs and a state of the art media center even the teachers are excited to return to classes tomorrow.
Malissa Robbins is a science teacher she says the teachers had input as well into the school and is happy with the results. According to Robbins she says there are new interactive boards which will benefit the students.
"It's better to have the kids engaged interacting with each other," Malissa Robbins said.
Robbins is excited about today's grand opening but can't wait until the students get to experience the first day of school.
"I'm really excited about the first day of school I am looking forward to the students reactions," Robbins said.
So far Harrell has been able to see the school so far and she likes what she sees.
"Going to high school is very exciting just this seems more exciting," Harrell said.
