Bee keeper helps out Albany woman after seeing story on WALB

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

“We saw your news story yesterday and a friend of mine Barbara gave me a call, and said hey you want to help this lady out," says bee keeper Thom Carey.

A bee keeper from Sale city was in Albany helping a woman remove thousands of bees from her yard.

An update about a story we first brought you on Friday night.

71-year-old Louise Collin's had problems getting rid of thousands of bees in her yard.

After bee keeper Thom Carey saw our story he came out and removed a big tree limb he says contains 15 to 20 thousand bees.

“Right now the bee population is doing pretty good but its mostly due to  hard work from bee keepers. If you see bees in a tree leave them alone if they are not bothering you. Or if you need them to be moved or removed, call a bee keeper, we would be more than happy to come out,” says Carey.

He says he plans to take the colony back to Sale City and put them into a hive to be managed.
