Dougherty County Commissioners prepare for back to school bash

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

County Commissioners are preparing for their big back to school bash tomorrow.
    

County Commissioner John Hayes and the Youth Commission will hold their first Back to school bash at Robert Cross Park.
 There will be horseback riding, fishing, food, and a school supply giveaway.
 A rap session will also be held to reconnect parents to learning.

"Typically an educated parent produces a better educated household,” said John Hayes, Dougherty County Commissioner. “A better educated household produces just a more stronger vibrant community. We need to be able to attract industry, we need a well educated ready workforce. Education is the track towards getting there."

The city will provide transportation to the event. You can contact them at 430-5182.
It kicks off at 10:00 a.m. and runs til 2.
