ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some South Georgians are laughing tonight for a good cause.

The SOWEGA Council on Aging held its 10th annual Comedy Night, featuring Mark Lowry with Stan Whitmire at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.
They sold more than 500 tickets.
All of the proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels to support homebound Seniors.

"So we have tons of volunteers that donate their time to deliver these meals everyday of the week,” said Izzie Sadler, Development Director for SOWEGA Council on Aging. “It's very important to not only deliver the meal but it's also a safety check. Everyday we know that that person is being checked on and their getting a meal."

Meals on Wheels covers 14 counties in Southwest Georgia.
