Albany teen with HIV wins national poetry contest

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany teen born with HIV wins a national poetry contest raising awareness about the virus.

16-year-old Kayla Quimbley beat out six other young finalists in the Aids Healthcare Foundation Speak Out Poetry Contest.
Tonight she is performing her poem about the negative stigma of HIV alongside Patti Labelle and Common at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
