Medricco Glover was indicted by a Crisp Co. grand jury Monday for murder. He was arrested and charged after punching Deon Ray last August in the Morningside Apartment complex. Ray died after his head hit the concrete.
Neighbors say 35-year-old Ray was punched in the face and died, and they were shocked that something like this happened to someone they said got along with everyone.
"When officers arrived, EMS arrived, they found the body to be completely unconscious and unresponsive. He was pretty much pronounced dead at the scene," said Cordele Police Detective Ketorie Sales last August.
Family members remember Ray as a loving father who always watched his kids off to school.
His uncle is a pastor at a nearby church. "A young man was struck down in his prime. We know it's not in our hands. It hurts because like I said he was like a son to me. He really was a son," said his Uncle James Wedges.
