MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - It was standing room only inside a Colquitt County courtroom as a judge decided to withhold a decision on whether to grant bond for three suspects of a fatal shooting in Norman Park.
The decision was for Adrian Robinson, Tykerious Jones, and Ty'Cameron Hayes.
It happened on July 5th at a home as a group of teens planned a robbery in what turned into the deadly shooting.
The family of John Hester, the victim of the shooting, said they were not surprised at the move.
"I think he reserved it because he didn't want reaction from either side," said Hester's sister Diane Spell.
She said the family has been doing their best to stay strong, but that it's been tough.
"It's all unreal. You think nothing like this will ever happen to you," Spell remarked. "Especially a person that believed in following the law and did good things for his community and his family."
In all, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced seven teens were arrested in connection to the shooting.
According to a report, Hester confronted the teens outside his home. That's when a fight broke out and Hester was shot.
He later died at a Thomasville hospital.
Robinson, Jones, and Hayes, along with Derrick Phillips, Brandon Wynn, Christian Glover, and I-Key Pinkins, were taken to the Colquitt Co. Jail.
They were arrested on July 15th and 16th, and charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery.
Some of them are accused of stealing up to 30 guns.
Only eight of those firearms were recovered.
Prosecutors said one suspect, Tykerious Jones, was the "ring leader" of the crime.
The lawyer of Adrian Robinson said he expected the Judge to make a decision on a bond within the next couple of days. He did not want to comment.
The family of Robinson also declined comment.
