ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

One Albany school put a fun twist on Open House tonight.

Teachers decorated hallways with themes at Albany Middle School.
The sixth grade theme was Hollywood.
Seventh was Cyber City and the Eighth Grade hall was Beachview Highway.
School Officials want to make sure students feel welcome when school starts tomorrow.

"We've got the red carpet treatment,” said Angelica King, Asst. Principal. “We believe that our students are our clientele here at the Middle. So we embrace them and we make them feel a part of our family. All of the themes are just catered to making school exciting, engaging and just motivating our kids to come in everyday and give their best."

Officials spoke to parents and students about the school system's new attendance policy that is much stricter this year.
They also stressed the importance of increasing reading and writing levels this school year.
