THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomasville woman was arrested Tuesday after police said she was caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars from a wallet left in a grocery cart.

We shared this story with you in our newscast and on our Facebook page last week.

Police now believe the woman shown in the video is 58-year-old Joann Clark.

They said she took money out of a wallet she found at Bob and Jeff's IGA.

Investigators said social media played a major role in identifying Clark.

"A lot of citizens out there, they are really our eyes," said Lieutenant Maurice Holmes. "And they're out there holding a lot of information.  And a lot of times all they need is just a little spark or a little perk to go ahead and give us the information we need so we can prosecute these individuals."

Clark is charged with theft of mislaid property.
