New superintendent ready to hit the ground running
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
The Valdosta City School system had a new superintendent as of Monday evening.
Dr. William Cason replaced Martin Roesch who retired on June 1st. Dr. Cason is a South Georgia Native and has spent the last two years as an assistant superintendent in Colquitt County.
He said he plans to hit the ground running. "A lot of meeting and talking and getting some ideas about strengths and weaknesses of the district and trying to formulate a plan as to where do we move forward," Dr. Cason explained during a brief break from meeting with community members during a meet and greet session at Valdosta High School Monday afternoon.
Wednesday will be Dr. Cason's first official day on the job.
