ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police said they have found an abducted 16-month-old boy and the man responsible for the act late Monday afternoon.

According to a report, officers found 22-year-old Alfred Paul Hunter and 16-month old Kaiden Scott in Sumter County.

Officers said the child was found safe, and that Hunter, who is the child's father, was taken into custody. Investigators also noted that Hunter did not have parental custody of Scott.

They found Scott in a car on Souther Field Road near Mayo Street.

Kaiden Scott was expected to be reunited with his mother Monday evening.

Scott was taken from the Superior Creek Lodge on North Slappey Blvd just before 1 p.m. the same day.

Investigators said Hunter was driving a blue 1984 Chevrolet Caprice, with Georgia tag # PYH9602.

That car was later found abandoned on Bumphead Road in Sumter County.

Police noted that Hunter had been arrested before, and his last known address was 714 10th Avenue in Albany.
