Tax Service and Red Cross give out school supplies

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

A tax service and the American Red Cross are helping kids get ready to go back to school.

Liberty Tax Service gave away school supplies Friday at the Public Library in Sylvester during a Red Cross Community Blood Drive.

The Sylvester Woman’s Club provided refreshments.

"We believe in giving back to the community such as with school supplies,” said Lynn Manley, Liberty Tax Marketer. “Children are needing that to go back to school on Monday in Worth County, so we're excited to be able to help with that."

"If they donating then we giving something back to the community as they giving us something back to help the hospital keep the supplies for the hospital for the blood,” said Tracy McCrary, American Red Cross Team Supervisor.

Red Cross says blood drives are especially important this time of year when donations are down.
