LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Tonight the county commissioners officially set the millage rate for this fiscal year in Lee county.

They were pleased to announce there will not be an increase, in fact there will be a slight decrease.

Lee County manager expects most residents to see a decrease in pay unless the resident’s house appreciated.

“I believe overall this year all the tax payers who pay taxes will pay less millage rate than they did last year,” said Ron Rabun. “So that's good news. That doesn't mean their actual tax bill will go down.”

The change means the county will bring in an estimated $25,000 less in revenue this year.
